letters to Claire.....

This year has been a doozy for you, hasn't it? A new baby brother when you just got a baby sister the year before, completely potty trained, gave up your pacifier (yes, my 3 yr. old still had a pacifier but she doesn't use it and hasn't in over a year), learned your ABC's, your shapes, how to write your name (almost perfectly!) and you can "read" from memory almost entire books!

You learned how to cook pancakes, cakes, cookies, almost anything & everything there is to cook, you help us with! You know how to fold laundry and make your bed. You can vacuum and put everything in it's place. You feed the dog and cat and water the flowers on the porch. You help Daddy & Mama feed and water the chickens and check for eggs. You help water the garden and pick the veggies.

I LOVE you soooooooo much, my "big helper"!!! Oh, sweet sweet baby girl, you are Mama's heart and I am so grateful EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. that God gave us you!! And, you are such an awesome big sister to Lil-wee & Drew-bee!! They love you so very much and every morning when you all wake up, it's a reunion of the happiest kind with hugging and kissing and laughing and being ready to start your day together!! Oh, how that makes your mama's heart SO glad!!

Don't grow up to fast, baby girl. Mama wants to hold on and keep you this age for awhile. I want to savor this sweet little girl you are becoming even as I mourn the passing of the baby you are leaving behind. Just know, pumpkin, Claire-bear, that you will ALWAYS be Mommy's baby girl.....my heart will NEVER let that go.

You will take my heart with you wherever you go....
