Monday Meanderings...
My friend, Sarah, does this on her blog and I thought I would start doing it on this one since I need a list of things to do to keep me accountable! lol So, here you go:
First the menu plan:
Breakfast:
PB & honey on homemade bread w/bananas
Scrambled eggs (do scrambled eggs make anyone else gag?! I HATE them but my kids LOVE them; go figure), homemade bread & homemade strawberry jam
Banana nut bread
Morning glory muffins
French toast made w/homemade bread, (I put peanut butter on mine for added protein), fruit salad
Peach smoothies
Breakfast burritos, fruit salad, leftover muffins (Sunday morning)
Lunch:
PB & J with homemade bread
grilled cheese
frozen pizza
Pasta salad w/whole grain pasta
leftovers
Charlie's pick on Saturday
Sunday dinner(listed below)
Suppers: (I can't get the recipe links to work right now; I will try again later)
Monday- eat out because of appt.'s in town
Tuesday- Angel Chicken, brown rice, steamed broccoli(our kids LOVE broccoli; they call it "trees") :)
Wednesday- Blackeyed peas, fried potatoes w/onion, buttermilk cornbread
Thursday- Lasagna (made with ground turkey, homemade sauce & whole grain noodles), salad, homemade french bread & butter
Friday- Cheesy cheddar crockpot chicken, brown rice, steamed broccoli & cauliflower
Saturday- Charlie's homemade pizza, salad
Sunday- Roasted chicken w/fennel, sweet onion muffins, steamed broccoli & cauliflower, steamed cabbage, cheesecake w/strawberries (Claire's request)
Bible Study:
*I am reading "The Ministry of Motherhood" by Sally Clarkson right now and following along with the suggested study questions. I have been mulling over these for the past few weeks:
For example,
*What purpose do you think God had in mind when he designed the role of mother? Have you ever specifically considered that, in becoming a mother, you have actually been called to a ministry? In what way does that concept change how you think about your role? "
Also, I have been reading some of Micah and some of Luke. Just because they have stood out to me for some reason or another, lately. Kind of an eclectic mix, I know!
Husband Encouragement:
It's back to doing "The Love Dare" again!! I saw huge results with it the last time around and Charlie feels so loved and adored when I follow it so I am going to start it again TODAY!! And, for something special, we are going to get a baby sitter and just be by ourselves for a couple of hours on Saturday (unless plans change and we get to go out of town, which would be great, too!)
*Having romantic candlelight dinners a couple of nights a week after the kids are in bed...this will be A LOT of effort because I will have to get up earlier, put the kids down for an earlier nap, plan everything around so they will go into bed a lot earlier, etc.... since Charlie has to get up at 3:30 am for work...but this is doable. I am certain!!
Verse of the week:
Psalm 127:3 (the Message)
Don't you see that children are God's best gift?
the fruit of the womb his generous legacy?
Train them up:
working on MOMMY this week!! lol We are working on being calm and in control with discipline!
Claire- we are back to working on immediate obedience & not telling little lies to get out of trouble
Lily- immediate obedience & time-outs for tantrums
Drew-timeouts in crib for tantrums (never to early to start!!) He's already throwing some whoppers at his young age; Lord give me strength!!
*also working on putting everything back in it's place!!
*Personal Goal:
I am loving Sarah's idea of following the "6 list"!! Great idea and something that I really need right now at this season in my life!! and I love, love, love this verse for remembering my priorites:
Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise - sensible, intelligent people; making the very most of the time - buying up each opportunity - because the days are evil." Ephesians 5:15-17
Fitness goal:
Well, I guess I have to give this a try, anyway!! It's back to the old walking 5 miles a day videos this week!! Nothing else has been working with 3 small children and no baby sitter!! So, I will try to get back to doing these in the mornings while the kids are doing it with me or maybe while they watch a video in the play area at the other end of the living room. Maybe I can make a tent and they can play/watch TV while Mama walks??? They love to make tents...
Zone:
Charlie's desk (there are NO words; I'll just leave it at that!)
Master Bedroom closet (again, NO words)
MUST DO:
see above
*check on insurance rates
*make eye dr. appointment
*organize for yard sale
*FINISH painting the living room!!!
*clean out vehicles & wash them
Fun things:
*see Husband encouragement
*start this with Claire & Lily (especially the Beatrix Potter, whom they LOVE)
*take the girls for ice cream (just the girls and Mama)
Okay, if you have stuck around for all of this, I am through now!! ha! I hope this helps me keep everything done. I am having such a difficult time latey with getting it all done. I could really use any prayers that you could say for me!
~Have a blessed week!
