the newest members of our family....

We are now the proud owners of a dozen baby chicks!! I am going to try and get pictures this evening of the kids with their babies. For now, I am off to feed & water and change their bedding. Also, I have got to check the heat lamp and make sure they are not roasted chickens!! :)

It is very tricky to keep chickens at the right temperature. A lot of people don't know just how tricky it is. Charlie was raised by parents who raised chickens for a living so he knows a lot about it which I am grateful for! But, since I am the one who is home, I have to take care of them and that's not such an easy job keeping the baby chicks alive when it's decided to become cold again outside!
